Hi, Thank you for your great work! :-) In my duolingo A-Tisket A-Tasket belongs to unit 7. I also found out that the bpm (beat per minute) is 067 for A-Tisket A-Tasket, Gavotte, Spring (and maybe for a couple more? I don't know) Knowing the bpm is good, if one is using a metronome
Hi, Hans I suppose you are writing about section 1, because I found different version for some songs. Well, anyway I will think about how to find out the BPM and I will post it. l was more concerned about the fingering, but I found it too much for me, I'm a newbie to music.
Yes, in section 1, unit 7, lesson 3 I have A-Tisket A-Tasket. But its no big deal. Maybe our duolings differ. (I have android) The bpm is really hard. My (electric) piano has a metronome. I tried bpm 065-068. Found out that 067 fits best. But is not perfect. I'm also a newbie to music :-) Very much so.
Hi Hans, I posted a new page, it's a spreadsheet, I tried to calculate all the bpm for the songs in section one. I explained in that post that there is a delay from the time that start the recording and the time that I press the key to start the song, and this time is variable. The important thing is that you press the keys at the right time with the metronome. Thanks to your comment I found that the sheet music of S001U006L009 Old MacDonald was the wrong one, I've just correct it.
Update! We have great news! Since early 2025, the Duolingo music course app has been updated to natively recognize MIDI input ! It successfully registers the keys you press (which is awesome!), even though it doesn't currently produce sound through your device's speakers. Everything we've previously published on this page is still totally valid, but now there's an even simpler, more direct way to get set up! You can use a specific sketch for your Arduino Leonardo to take the signals from your piano keyboard and convert them directly into MIDI signals. The Duolingo app understands this perfectly now! You can grab the file for this simplified approach right here on GitHub: [ Link to Arduino sketch ] Improving the Duolingo Music Course Experience: A Practical Approach After three months of studying music with Duolingo without prior knowledge, I've noticed that the course provides valuable skills, such as associating notes on the staff with their names, keyboard positi...
